I'm Running For Mayor to Save Our City
My name is Terrance Roberts.
I am Denver, we are Denver, and together we will Save Our City!
My family roots run deep in Denver and my dedication to our city has exposed me to the most wonderful people in the world. I have a long history of organizing for youth violence prevention and civil rights; it is likely that you and I have crossed paths through various efforts to improve our community. I am reaching out today because I need your help to Save Our City.
You may have read about my story in the book: The Holly: Five Bullets, One Gun, and the Struggle to Save an American Neighborhood. I began organizing youth in Northeast Denver against gang violence two decades ago and I marched and organized in solidarity in the Summer of 2020 seeking justice for George Floyd, Elijah McClain, and Breonna Taylor. I am still working to demand justice for 16-year-old Alexis Mendez-Perez and calling for our leaders to step up their efforts against the rise of violence in our city. After my efforts helping draft and passing Senate Bill 217 in 2020 to increase police integrity and accountability, I knew that it was possible for a dedicated group of people to make tangible policy changes for the better. I am willing to enact the bold policies that will Save Our City and in order to do that I will need to win the 2023 Denver Mayoral Election. The issues of homelessness, housing, and public safety are intrinsically linked to the material conditions of the working people who make our city function. These conditions have been neglected and privatized by the wealthy to justify further inequality. By declaring the housing crisis an emergency and taking the serious steps to house every person in Denver, we will have a cleaner, safer, and happier city for everyone!
